SPP on freenode

Satya Portal Pack is now on freenode.net . Just open your favourite IRC client, connect to freenode.net and then join the #spp channel.

Hope you will appreciate the fact that I cannot be online all the time on this channel, as I have to support my life also. But everyone is welcome to discuss about SPP on this channel any time.

SPP is on IRC

Dear Developers,

SPP is now on IRC. You can login to the irc.dal.net (Generally identified as DalNet) and join the following channels for discussing about SPP:

#spp ——- For general discussion on SPP.

#spp-devel ——- For discussion about development and philosophy of SPP.

SPP Version 0.5 Alpha 8 Released

Today, I have released SPP version 0.5 alpha8. This version implements the basic multiprogramming capability in SPP.

Session and error isolation for applications complete

Today, I have completed the basic isolation of session and errors between various running web applications. This complete the basic infrastructure for multiple app execution with each having it’s own environment space.

Now, bracing again for modules development! :-)

Version 0.5 Alpha 7 Released

I have today released version 0.5 alpha 7 version of SPP. It partially implements the SPP_Dojo and SPP_Dijit modules.

Adding Multiprogramming Capability to SPP

I am now adding multiprogramming capability to the SPP. Initially, I had planned to defer it’s implementation till next version. But now, I feel that this would require a lot of code rewrite. So, I have now decided to implement it in this version itself. In this regard, today I started coding a class SPP_App. Along with this, some changes in the SPP_Registry and SPP_Module were also made to suit it for the multiprogramming environment.

I know that many people will jump over me on the use of word “Multiprogramming”, as it is grenerally used in the terms of Operating Systems. But that is the direction in which SPP is now heading. It will support simultaneous execution of multiple Web Applications providing them exclusive memory spaces.

Happy testing till next post.

SPP_HTML and SPP_Validator are out of core

According to the “Minimal at core and extendable by modules” philosophy, the HTML and validators have been moved out of the core. They are now available of SPP_Optional modules.

SPP Version 0.5 alpha6 released

Today, I am releasing SPP version 0.5 alpha6. This release completes the implementation of event architecture.

SPP_Event modified

A new method ‘addEventHandler’ was added to the SPP_Event class today. Now, it is possible to define multiple handlers for a single event in addition to existing setting a new handler functionality. The occurence types available with this handler are – ‘before’ and ‘after’. This means this event handler cannot override the default handler. This is logical, as it does not make any sense to override an event handler with multiple handlers.

SPP_Dijit Module is now a part (Sub Module) of SPP_Dojo

Today, I made SPP_Dijit module a part of SPP_Dojo module, because this is the way dojo handles it. Similarly, I plan to create SPP_Dojox as a part of SPP_Dojo.
